Small-footprint SPI controller IP is fast

The Serial Peripheral Interconnect (SPI) host controller IP for customer-specific standard product ICs provides a fast, easy connection to Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and MobileTV chipsets. The controller IP features a low-pin-count interface and a small-footprint implementation and is available as part of a functional library or as an IP block for FPGA designs.

Implemented in standard platform products, an SDIO host controller requires 15 customizable building blocks (CBBs), PCI requires 6 to 9 CBBs, while the SPI requires only 3 CBBs and 4 IOs and provides a high-speed interface with clock speeds to 52 MHz.
