Zoran Corporation has announced the availability of its Quatro® 4305 and 4310 digital processors for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of laser printers, multifunction printers (MFPs) and scanners. Each processor has a high-performance ARM9™ family CPU core for managing print languages and network protocols and a Quatro® DSP core for high-quality image processing functions. The Quatro® 4305 and 4310 processors include Ethernet and USB interfaces, a memory card interface, laser clock generator, laser pulse width modulator, real-time clock, and scanner analog front-end.
Quatro® 4305 and 4310 Digital Printing Processors Offer Advanced Integration for Networked Office Equipment
“Zoran’s Quatro® 4305 solution is optimized for use in printers, while the Quatro® 4310 is targeted for use in MFPs and scanners. Both solutions are cost-effective platforms with the processing power required to run IPS™, Zoran’s print description language (PDL) interpreter firmware.
“Zoran is a leading provider of printing solutions and customers look to us to develop powerful and practical Quatro® solutions to address the rapidly growing segments of the laser market, particularly color and MFP devices,” said Simon Dolan, senior vice president and general manager, Zoran’s Imaging Division. “Zoran’s Quatro® 4305 and 4310 processors directly target these evolving markets and meet the cost and performance requirements of leading OEMs.”
These newest additions to Zoran’s Quatro® line of digital processors are the industry’s most highly integrated solutions, enabling OEMs to achieve a significantly lower bill of materials (BOM).
