The OS81110 Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) intelligent network interface controller is an all-digital networking device for high-end multimedia and infotainment systems. It enables the transfer of digital audio, video, data, and control information between devices in automobiles and other applications.
The chip implements MOST150 for cost-efficient operation at 150 Mbits/s over a polymer optical fiber cable. It operates at six-time the speed of the current generation MOST25, and allows for transmission of legacy Ethernet frames. The chips price is expected to come down significantly in the coming months.
