The meters also permit fast, up-close contact measurement with standard miniconnector type-K thermocouple bead probes. Both handhelds can capture min, max, avg, and dif temperature values to help save time and reduce calculation errors.

The 568 can capture and store up to 99 readings, which can be viewed on the thermometer or downloaded to a PC using the meter’s USB port for analysis and trending with the included software. The PC setup also can be used for real-time hands-free monitoring.

Available in six languages, the meters’ intuitive user interface with soft-key menus permits access to advanced features, such as adjustable emissivity, alarms, and datalogging, with a few pushes of a button. (566, $379; 568, $500 — available now.)
