Midrange scopes offer top waveform visibility
Having bandwidths from 350 MHz to 1 GHz, DSO and MSO units provide 12-in. displays with update rates of 100,000 waveforms/s
Consisting of 10 mixed-signal and digital-storage oscilloscopes, the InfiniiVision 7000 Series offers bandwidths from 350 MHz to 1 GHz, deep memory (8 Mpoints) capable of delivering the fastest update rates of 100,000 waveforms/s, and the largest display — a 12.1-in. XGA LCD display whose area is 40% greater than any other on the market. Further, the units — which can have two or four analog channels and, for MSOs, 16 logic channels — are highly compact; each one is just 7 in. deep and weighs 14 lbs.
The large display is particularly helpful for mixed-signal viewing of serial protocols, letting users display up to 20 channels simultaneously. The fast update rate — 5,000 times faster than any other available scope — eliminates two common scope errors: unresponsive controls with deep memory turned on and traditional architectures that are blind to changes in signals being tested.
Shipped with numerous general-purpose features, the oscilloscopes can be customized with a number of unique software options. Applications include serial decode and trigger (for I2 C, SPI, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, RS-232, and other UARTs), core-assisted debug of designs with Xilinx or Altera FPGAs, and segmented memory for analysis of laser pulses, radar bursts, and serial packets.
The units also permit offline viewing of waveforms on a PC and RF contextual viewing of scope data using Vector Signal Analysis software. (From $6,950 to $17,900 — available now.)
