The AirMax VS three-pair backplane connector system meets the midplane connector interface requirements defined in the Storage Bridge Bay (SBB), V. 2.0 specification. The spec defines, among other things, the midplane connector interface for a storage enclosure controller slot to support storage controllers from a variety of hardware vendors.
The 54-position connector system scales differential signals to 12.5 Gbits/s, providing nine individual contacts per column to support three differential signal pairs. (Per mated signal, from $0.10 to $0.12—4 to 6 weeks ARO.)
