Aimed at mobile handset designs, the 0.25-in.-format OV3642 CameraChip image sensor provides 3 Mpixels along with on-chip technology (TrueFocus) to optimize optics, sensors, and image processing for maximum camera performance and minimum size and cost.

The chip has 960-mV/lux-s sensitivity, double that of comparable devices, and its 20-cm-to-infinity depth of field enables true point-and-shoot capability. With its embedded processor, the imager provides image stabilization and other advanced features, and it delivers up to 15 fps at full resolution over either a two-lane MIPI or parallel interface.
