Overvoltage protector fits USB-charging apps
Dedicated to USB-charging applications for portable and consumer devices, the NCP361 overvoltage protection controller uses an internal p-channel FET to eliminate the need for an external device. During an overvoltage event, the device instantaneously disconnects the output from the input. Current consumption is 20 µA.
The overvoltage controller also provides features overcurrent protection at 750 mA and has a negative-going flag output to alert about system faults. It also offers protection of Vbus up to 20 V. ($0.40 ea/3,000 — available now.)
