Available in 32- and 48-pin TQFN packages, the MAX9406 DisplayPort-to-HDMI/DVI level shifter allows a PC with a DisplayPort graphics output to interface with an HDMI/DVI-based display. The chip provides 5 to 3.3-V bidirectional level shifting for the I2 C-compatible DDC pins and 5 to 3.3-V level shifting for the HPD pin.
This device features 0.56-ps rms added random jitter, a 2-Gbit/s max data rate, a 350-ps propagation delay, and 20-ps channel-to-channel skew. The inputs integrate 50-Ω terminations and a self-biased common mode. The 48-pin version is function and pin compatible with the Intel HDMI level-shifter spec. (From $1.30 ea/1,000—available now.)
