Suited for UHF-band multichannel multipoint distribution service (MMDS) applications, the MAX2117 zero-IF (ZIF) tuner receives QPSK signals in the 470 to 1,000-MHz range and downconverts them to baseband for demodulation. Features include a noise figure of 8 dB, a better than 25-dB typ ACPR, a single supply of 3.3 V ±5%, and a power consumption of 330 mW.
Though it has been designed to operate with a low-cost 4-MHz crystal, an internal reference divider allows the user to select any crystal in the 4 to 8-MHz range. (From $5 ea/1,000—available now.)
