40-MHz 8-bit MCU targets automotive

The S08SG16/32 40-MHz 8-bit MCU has a 20 MHz bus with 16 or 32 Kbytes of flash and targets automotive systems with -40° to 125°C operation from 2.7 to 5.5-V supplies. The chip’s serial communications module enables simplified development of LIN systems.

The 16-, 20-, or 28-pin TSSOP-packaged device has a 10-bit A/D converter with a temperature sensor and up to 16-channels. It also includes low-voltage inhibit circuits, voltage regulators, I/O multiplexers, and watchdog circuits. ($1.75 or $1.85 ea/10,000; demonstration board, $69—samples available now.)
