Quad I/O serial flash is fast, small

The SST26VF016 serial quad I/O flash memory IC has an enhanced 4-bit multiplexed I/O serial interface with a fast 80-MHz operating frequency and low pin count. The device targets execute-in-place applications, where programs are stored and executed directly.

The 8-pin 16-Mbit 3.0-V chip features a 350-Mbit/s max sustained burst data rate and supports 8/16/32/64-byte burst-mode operation with wraparound, reducing read access time. Its active read current is 15 mA (typical at 80 MHz) and standby current is 10 µA typ. ($1.16 ea/10,000 — samples available May; production 4th qtr.)
