The MIPS32 1004K multi-threaded, multiprocessor licensable IP core for the embedded applications provides up to four single- or multi-threaded processors integrated with advanced system coherency. The IPs coherence management unit provides the system “glue” for managing coherent operation between cores and I/O, along with an I/O coherence unit.

The 800 MHz cores have a nine-stage pipeline and yield more than 1.5 DMIPS/MHz each. Coherent processing helps lower SoC development costs, since many applications need fewer processors than with other multiprocessor solutions. Multi-threading in each CPU provides significant performance gains. (Contact company for license fee — available 2nd qtr.)
