Tough LCDs have swap­pable LED backlights

Designed for industrial uses such as test and measuring equipment, medical equipment, and portable handheld devices, the color TFT AMLCD module series incorporates field-replaceable high-brightness LED backlighting systems and LED driver circuitry in each display’s electrical interface.

The series’ five models — LTA057A343F 5.7-in. QVGA, LTA06­5B0D2F 6.5-in. VGA, LTA084C271F 8.4-in. SVGA, LT084AC37000 8.4-in. XGA, and LT104AC36100 10.4-in. XGA — can optionally have resistive touch panels. Backlights have a 70,000-hour average lifetime to half brightness. (5.7- and 6.5-in. models, $285; 8.4- and 10.4-in. models, $480 — depending on size, availability starts now to Sept.)
