Infineon acquires Primarion
In April, Infineon Technologies acquired 100% of Primarion to strengthen its power management application activities. Primarion, as you know, manufactures and markets digital power ICs for computing, graphics, and communication applications. It is a fabless company, headquartered in Torrance, CA.
According to the Infineon press release, the company is now in a good position to set the benchmark in system density, efficiency, and control by combining the performance of Primarion’s digitally controlled power-management devices with its power semiconductors portfolio. The acquisition will accelerate Infineon’s access to the growth potential in the digital power segment by providing advanced system solutions to customers. The acquisition supports the company’s power management activities in Villach, Austria. It also complements company growth from last year’s acquisition of Texas Instruments’ DSL CPE business and LSI’s Mobility Products Group. Further information is available at www.infineon.com.
