MOSFET drivers target buck, boost converters
The LTC4443 and LTC4443-1 high-speed synchronous MOSFET drivers support upper and lower power n-channel MOSFETs in synchronous rectified converter topologies. When combined with power MOSFETs and the company’s dc/dc controllers, the drivers form a high-efficiency synchronous regulator that can be used as a step-down or step-up dc/dc converter.
The drivers can sink up to 5 A, and source up to 2.4 A, making them well suited for driving high gate capacitance and high current MOSFETs. They can also drive multiple MOSFETs in parallel for higher current applications. The 12 ns rise time and 8 ns fall time when driving a 3,000-pF load, help minimize switching losses.
