M-LVDS transceiver supports four networks

Designed for backplane clock distribution in ATCA and MicroTCA line cards, the DS91M040 quad-channel transceiver complies with the EIA/TIA-899 M-LVDS (multipoint-LVDS) standard. The device drives and receives clock and data signals in multipoint network applications supporting up to four networks simultaneously and can manage as many as 32 loads at clock frequencies up to 125 MHz and data transfers up to 250 Mbits/s.

Features include 2-ns typ rise and fall times and support for both M-LVDS type 1 and type 2 receiver inputs and shields adjoining circuits with 15-kV ESD protection on the M-LVDS I/O pins. Housed in a 32-pin LLP package, the transceiver also includes pin-control of the M-LVDS receiver. ($3.79 ea/1,000 — available now.)
