The BCM53118 8-port GbE switch supports a full L2 feature set and gives a 30% reduction in power in full traffic mode versus previous generations. Designed for unmanaged SMB switches and routers, the 65-nm process device features eight 10/100/1000 PHYs and one GMII/RGMII interface for an inband management port.
The IC can automatically detect which ports are being used and scale the power consumption proportionately. It has four selectable QoS settings per port and IPv4/IPv6 DSCP-based QoS. it supports IEEE 802.1Q-based VLAN with 4K entries. ($18.25 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
