Controller drives E-paper display

The S1D13521B display controller IC targets E Ink’s Vizplex-enabled electronic paper displays (EPDs). The controller enables the display to perform up to 16 tasks in parallel, and supports smooth and responsive pen input devices.

The IC features fast screen updates (2,048 x 1,536 at 50 Hz+), an indirect 16-bit bus host, multiregional updates for smooth drawing, and rotation support for the image buffer. It comes in a PFBGA180 package, and has a core running at 1.8 V and I/O at 1.8 ~ 3.3 V. ($18 ea/sample qty — available now, prod qty August.)
