ARM7 MCU features direct FPGA interface

The AT91CAP7E ARM7-based MCU features a direct FPGA interface to its six-layer advanced high-speed bus (AHB). The IC has a peripheral DMA controller, 160 Kbytes of SRAM, a USB 2.0 full-speed device, SPI master and slave, two USARTs, three 16-bit timer counters, an 8-channel/10-bit A/D converter, plus interrupt control.

The FPGA interface provides two AHB masters, four slaves, a special direct slave interface to an external ZBT-RAM through the FPGA, and a ROM that remaps the ZBT-RAM to emulate and debug the ROM code. The interface eliminates FPGA-induced bus contention, offloads MCU/FPGA communication from the CPU, and frees up the external bus interface for memory access. (From $6.95 ea/10,000 — available now.)
