8-string WLED driver offers accurate dimming
The MAX17061 8-string white-LED (WLED) driver uses an internal switch, current-mode, step-up controller to drive the LED array, which can be configured for up to eight parallel strings with 10 LEDs per string. To ensure even LED brightness, each string employs a current source that achieves ±1.5% current-balance accuracy between strings. The part also generates a DPWM signal for accurate WLED dimming control.
This device features low feedback voltage at each LED string of 625 mV at 25 mA LED current and a selectable switching frequency of 500 kHz, 750 kHz, or 1 MHz. Housed in a 28-pin TQFN package, the MAX17061 also features a 4.5 to 26-V input-voltage range and a fixed (25 mA) or adjustable (15-mA to 30-mA) full-scale LED current. (From $2.59 — available now.)
