Isolated dc/dc converter series supplies 100 W in tiny package
The interleaved synchronous rectifier topology achieves 90% efficiency
The UCE series eighth-brick dc/dc converters are isolated to 2,250 Vdc. Available with fixed-output voltages from 1.5 to 12 V, the converters have output current to 40 A and output power up to 100 W.
The high-density converters have an open-frame design that use an interleaved synchronous rectifier topology to achieve efficiency levels of over 90%. The modules accept an input voltage range of 36 to 75 Vdc, with a thermal performance and derating that enables them to operate with full-rated power at their maximum 85C operating temperature with only moderate airflow. The minimum operating temperature is 40C.
Converter dimensions are 58.4 x 22.9 mm, with a profile of 10.16 mm. Typical applications include distributed-power architectures, servers, and equipment for telecom, wireless, and information technology. The converters are RoHS compliant and protected against input over/undervoltage, output overcurrent, and short circuits. An on-board temperature sensor shuts down the converter if thermal limits are reached; output protection automatically restarts the converter when the fault is removed. A remote on/off control input enables phased startup and shutdown in multivoltage applications, as well as standby operation, which provides power savings. Output trim and sense functions are also provided. (From $35 ea/large qty available now.)
