The STM8S 8-bit microcontroller family targets industrial control systems and features a 32-bit memory interface and a three-stage pipeline — achieving 20-MIPS peak processing at 24 MHz. The devices have a stack pointer and 16-bit index registers for enhanced manipulation of tables, a 16-Mbyte linear memory address space, and they are specified for the industrial temperature range.
The MCUs have 4 to 128 Kbytes of flash, up to 2 Kbytes of EEPROM, five to sixteen channels of 10-bit A/D conversion as well as CAN, SPI, USART, LIN-UART, and I2 C interfaces. They operate from 3.0 to 5.5 V and come in 20 to 80-pin packages. (From $1 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
