MEMs clock oscillator withstands 100,000 G

The VMEM5Q high-shock and vibration MEMS-based military clock oscillator uses a small mass, high stiffness micromechanical resonator. Qualification testing of a 125-MHz oscillator showed no degradation in performance up to the maximum test capability of the test set, 30,000g in each axis.

MEMs clock oscillator withstands 100,000 G

The device is designed to withstand up to 100,000 G shock, is available from 1 to 130 MHz, and offers operation in a −40° to 85°C temperature range with 100- and 50-ppm stabilities. Housed in a 5 x 3.2-mm QFN package, the oscillator operates off 3.3-V supply and has an enable/disable feature to allow the clock output to be disabled for board testing.
