Suited for use in 1- and 3-segment, ISDB-T applications operating in the VHF and UHF frequency bands, the MAX2163A silicon tuner offers the performance benefits of SiGe with the power consumption of CMOS. The tuner contains all of the circuit blocks needed to receive ISDB-T, except a crystal and cellular rejection filter.

Features include a 99-dB dynamic range, a 2- or 4-wire digital interface, and internal RF blocks that include variable bandwidth lowpass filters, optional VHF and UHF tracking filters, and on-chip power detectors. The MAX2163A is housed in a 40-pin TQFN package or a custom, 40-bump WLP and can be shut down through either the digital bus or a hardware pin. (From $4.00 ea/1,000 — available now.)
