The LM48100Q audio power amplifier amplifies warning tones in automobile driver warning systems such as signal change, back-up warning, and collision avoidance. The mono 1.3-W amplifier includes open-drain FAULT output, which indicates when a fault has occurred and comprehensive output short-circuit and thermal-overload protection which prevents damage during a fault condition.
Specifications include a supply voltage from 3 to 5.5 V, a PSRR of 74 dB at 1 kHz, a quiescent current of 6 mA at 5 V, and a shutdown current of 0.01 μA. The LM48100Q also delivers 1.3 W of continuous output power to an 8-Ω load with less than 1% THD+N. Housed in a 14-pin TSSOP package, the amplifier is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified for operation between –40° and 105°C. ($1.50 ea/1,000 — available now.)
