14-function nav switch is industry’s first
Offers simpler and less expensive alternative to touchpad technology in portable devices
Combining touch and tactile functions in a package measuring 9.9 x 11.3 x 2.0 mm, the SensoNav is presented as the industry’s first 14-function navigation switch. The switch is an alternative to touchpad technology and uses the same driver that drives the keyboard — minimizing space and cost requirements in a variety of portable electronics applications including games devices, mobile phones, MP3 players, and universal remote controls.
The 14-function navigation switch provides standard 5-way center, up, down, left, and right directions with tactile feedback, free direction scrolling on the sensitive level, two variable-speed scrolling directions, and four double-speed scrolling directions. The switch is compatible with standard SMT lines and doesn’t consume power. (From $2 — prototypes available now, full volume available middle of 2nd qtr 2009.)
