The 32-bit i.MX35 processor is based on the ARM1136JF-S core and is designed for the automotive environment. The IC has two FlexCAN modules, a Media Local Bus (MLB) for INIC transceivers, an Ethernet MAC and runs at up to 532 MHz for up to D1 30-fps video decoding, sophisticated acoustic echo cancellation, and speech recognition.
The chip operates at –40° to 85°C and has a 128-Kbyte L2 unified cache, two high-speed USB ports with PHYs, two MMC/SD/SDIO ports, a CE-ATA/SDIO port for external wireless, and support for DDR2 memory. It also has an enhanced serial audio interface (ESAI) for multichannel (5.1) speaker outputs, S/PDIF I/O for compressed digital audio connectivity and an asynchronous sample rate converter (ASRC) for mixing digital content with different sampling frequencies. ($10 to $13 ea/100,000 — samples available now.)
