Suited for sensor excitation and microcontroller support functions, the MAX1329 data-acquisition system (DAS) features a 12-/16-bit A/D converter, dual 12-bit force-sense D/A converters, and voltage references. The part also integrates analog support blocks such as operational amplifiers, a 16:1 input multiplexer, a PGA, and low-leakage SPDT and SPST solid-state switches.
An integrated oscillator provides a 32-kHz clock for timekeeping, and a configurable frequency-locked loop generates the high-speed clock necessary for driving a host microcontroller. With all of the analog blocks enabled, the DAS has a quiescent supply current of 3.75 mA typ. Housed in a 40-pin TQFN package, the MAX1329 operates from a 1.8 to 3.6-V digital supply and a 2.7 to 5.5-V analog supply. (From $7.49 ea/1,000 — available now.)
