LED driver IC drives up to 40 white LEDs

The LT3599 LED driver drives up to four strings of ten 120-mA LEDs with 3,000:1 true color PWM dimming while delivering efficiencies up to 90%. The part’s input voltage range of 3.1 to 30 V is well suited for automotive, medical, and industrial applications.

Features include a programmable 200-kHz to 2.1-MHz fixed-frequency operation, an output voltage up to 44 V, open/short LED protection and fault flags, programmable LED current derating, programmable input UVLO with hysteresis. The part is available in a 32-lead QFN and a TSSOP-28E package is tested and guaranteed to operate to the –40° to 125°C operating junction temperature. (From $3.82 ea/1,000 — stock.)
