Twin transistor devices target VCO apps

The UPA828TD twin transistor combines two closely matched silicon NPN chips in a 1.2 x 1.0 x 0.5-mm 6-pin leadless RoHS-compliant package. Ideal for VCO applications, the device enables oscillator and buffer amplifier functions to be combined in one miniature device. It is suited for portable, battery-powered products.

Typical specifications for the transistor package at 1 V, 3 mA, and 2 GHz include a noise figure of 1.3 dB and an insertion power gain of 7.5 dB. Each transistor is independently mounted, and the device can be configured for either cascode or dual-transistor operation. ($0.68 ea/10,000 —— available now.)
