Miniature color sensor suits backlighting apps

Designed for control of RGB-LED-backlight performance in high-precision applications, the miniaturized JENCOLOR TIAM3 True Color sensor module integrates signal processing and four programmable amplifier channels. The 6.5 x 5.0 x 1.6-mm module is 33% thinner than its predecessor.

The sensor uses spectral filters whose long-term stability and low sensitivity to temperature differentiated it from color sensors with polymer filter coatings. Spectral characteristics are tuned for eye-accurate LED color control. The unit works from a 3 to 5-V supply, typically drawing 2.5 mA. (Contact Diane Damer for pricing and availability.)
