HDD features 1.5 Tbytes, low power

The EcoGreen F2EG hard-disk drive delivers 1.5-Tbyte capacity with 500 Gbytes per disk. Lower platter count means less power to start the motor, less power to continuously spin the motor, and a lighter head-stack, which takes less power to seek.

The 101.5 x 147.0-mm drive uses 6.3 W read/write, 5.1 W idle, and 1 W in standby. It has a Serial ATA 3.0-Gbit/s Interface with native command queuing and a 32-Mbyte buffer. ($149 MSRP — available now.)
