Fairchild Semiconductor Announces First SD Card Multiplexer that Interfaces between Three Different Voltage Levels

San Jose, California – April 14, 2009 – Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) brings designers of smart phones a SD card translating multiplexer that interfaces three different I/O levels between host and SD interfaces. The FXL3SD206 multiplexes between three voltage levels and three parts, saving valuable board space and minimizing design complexity. This single device replaces a multiple chip solution in smart phone applications. With an optimal 24-pin UMLP footprint, this SD card multiplexer is ideal for space-constrained designs found in smart phones and other SD applications.

Through power management and signal path expertise, coupled with advanced packaging, the FXL3SD206 is an example of Fairchild’s highly-efficient design capabilities, and its ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions, accelerating time-to-market in portable designs. Other products include the FAN2564, a low VIN LDO switcher, that offers the efficiency of a switcher in the footprint of a LDO; the FDMA1027PT and FDFMA2P853T, 20V P-Channel PowerTrench® MOSFETs, that offer the industry’s lowest profile with excellent power dissipation; and the FPF202x series of advanced load switches that extend battery life in biometric sensor modules..
