Rad-tolerant PMIC targets medical apps

The UC18xx-SP and UC1525B-SP PWM controllers and the SN54ACxx ac logic devices help increase system-level reliability in applications exposed to long-term radiation and extreme temperatures, such as downhole drilling, x-ray imaging, satellite systems and high-altitude avionics. The PWM controllers suit switching power supply-based applications, and offer 30 krad(Si) tolerance to low dose rate radiation.

The UC18xx-SP provide up to 500-kHz voltage/current mode PWM-control. The UC1525B-SP is a dual-output, 250-kHz voltage mode PWM-controller. The ac logic devices reach a total irradiated dose level of 50 krads and offer quadruple two-input positive-NOR and NAND gates. (Order samples at www.ti.com/uc-pr.)
