Integrated clock generators replace up to 4 discrete HF XOs
Housed in QFN-32 packages, the CDCM61001/2/4 precision clock generators replace up to four discrete high-frequency (HF) crystal oscillators — saving, according to the company, up to 50% more board space than competing solutions. The parts operate at 500 mW — a 30% power savings according to the company — making then suitable for high-density applications. Features include an input reference that has the commonly used crystal frequencies such as 24.8832, 25, and 26.5625 MHz and an input crystal bypass mode that allows direct tuning on the reference.
The parts ease board design by providing fully integrated VCO support for an output frequency range from 43.75 to 683 MHz, allowing one device to cover multiple standards or designs. The CDCM61004 has four LVPECL/LVDS or eight LVCMOS outputs, the CDCM61002 has two LVPECL/LVDS or four LVCMOS outputs, and the CDCM61001 has one LVPECL/LVDS or two LVCMOS outputs. (Ea/100: CDCM61004, $8.15; CDCM61002, $6.25; CDCM61001, $5.25 — available now.)
