Enabling users to set standard and non-standard resistor values for open-loop applications, the ISL22317 low-voltage digitally controlled potentiometer (DCP) with less than 1% typical resistor tolerance. The patent-pending architecture of the device allows it to track an external resistor within 10 ppm/C improving overall system accuracy for temperatures up to 125C. It also features a zero-compensated wiper resistance in rheostat mode.
The device employs an easy-to-use I2 C interface to program accurate resistor settings greater than 1 million times in the integrated EEPROM memory. The part also features 128-tap position, a pin selectable slave address, and 10-, 50-, and 100-kΩ total resistance options. Housed in a TDFN package, the part operates at 2.7 to 5.5 V and from –40° to 125°C. ($1.80 ea/1,000 — available now.)
