Suited for high-performance synchronous dc/dc buck applications, the IR3640M single-phase synchronous buck PWM controller integrates MOSFET drivers and a bootstrap diode. Its single-loop voltage-mode architecture simplifies design. The part is designed to drive a pair of n-channel MOSFETs from 250-kHz to 1.5-MHz switching frequency.
The output voltage can be precisely regulated from 0.7 V within a tolerance of ±1% over temperature, line, and load variations. Housed in 20-lead MLPQ packages, the device integrates a range of features including programmable soft-start, prebias startup, voltage tracking, external synchronization, enable input, and power-good output.
