PAs simplify 3G mobile device design

A family of WCDMA/HSPA power amplifiers (PAs) incorporates daisy-chainable RF power couplers — enabling simplified design of 3G handsets, data cards, modems, and other types of UMTS subscriber devices. The family consists of the AWU6601 for UMTS2100 (Band 1), the AWU6602 for UMTS1900 (Band 2), the AWU6604 for UMTS1700 (Bands 3, 4, and 9), the AWU6605 for UMTS850 (Bands 5 and 6), and the AWU6608 for UMTS900 (Band 8).

The RF coupler in each PA has a typical 20-dB directivity and 20-dB coupling factor. The AWU6601 features a leakage current in shutdown mode of less than 1 µA and an efficiency (WCDMA/HSPA mode) of 40% at POUT of 28.25 dBm and 25% at POUT of 17 dBm. ($1.13 ea/10,000 — available now.)
