The LT3650-4.1 and LT3650-4.2 monolithic high-voltage battery chargers are for single-cell Li-ion/polymer batteries. The switch-mode devices operate from 4.75 to 32 V and have a 40-V max rating. The charge current is programmable and dynamically adjustable up to 2 A.
The battery charger chips suit industrial handheld instruments, 12 to 24-V automotive and heavy equipment, desktop cradle chargers, and small notebook or tablet computer applications. They have a 1-MHz operating frequency, a final float voltage accuracy of ±0.5%, and charge current accuracy of ±5%. They are housed in 0.75-mm-high 12-pin 3 x 3-mm DFN packages that operate from –40° to 85°C. (Ea/1,000: E and I grades, from $2.80 and $3.22 — available now.)
