Low-cost 16-bit MCU takes very little power

The 16-bit PIC24F04KA201 MCU combines small-footprint 14- and 20-pin package options and typical sleep currents as low as 20 nA. The processor provides up to 16-MIPS operation, using a 32-MHz internal clock, and operates on 1.8 to 3.6 V at –40° to 85°C.

The IC takes only 600 µA max at 1.8 V with a 2-MHz clock. The low-cost MCU has SPI, I2 C, and UART interfaces; 4 Kbytes of flash; 512 bytes SRAM; a 10-bit 500-ksample/s A/D converter; and a capacitive touch-sensing peripheral. (From $0.99 ea/high volume — samples available now.)
