32-bit processor has power management, touch control, high integration
Targeting a broad range of consumer and embedded markets, the i.MX233 applications processor features full power management with support for Li-ion batteries and external device power, an LCD controller with touchscreen, and stereo analog audio codecs. The chip uses a 454-MHz ARM926EJ-S core.
The MAPBGA169- or LQFP128-packaged processor has in a high-speed USB port with PHY, I2C, I2S, and SPI ports, plus 32 Kbytes of SRAM and flexible external memory support with error correction. It also has a pixel pipeline for graphics processing, two to six channels of A/D conversion, a video D/A converter, a stereo headphone amplifier, and a 1.5-W mono speaker amplifier. The device has AES security and a DRM unique ID. It has an option for –40° to 85°C operation and runs on 2.0 to 4.2 V. ($5.11 to $6.79 ea/10,000 — available October.)
