The AS5215 dual-die automotive magnetic rotary encoder IC is suited for safety applications, such as electronic power steering systems. It offers accurate angular measurement over a full turn of 360° and over an extended ambient temperature of 40° to 150°C.
Additional features include an SSI interface, two programmable output modes (differential or single ended), and a wide magnetic field input range from 20 to 80 mT. Fully qualified to AEC-Q100, grade 0, the AS5215 is available in a small TSSOP 14 package and operates at 5 V of supply. ($6.40 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
