Suited for LCD TVs, monitors, and auto displays, the MAX16814 four-string HB LED driver delivers up to 150 mA per string. It contains a boost controller and four linear current sinks and all the circuitry needed to optimize the boost output voltage. It provides a programmable switching frequency from 200 kHz to 2 MHz and a 5,000:1 PWM dimming range.
Additional features include open and short fault protection, thermal protection, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, output overvoltage protection, and overtemperature protection. Housed in 32-pin TQFN and 20-pin TSSOP packages, the part is specified over –40° to 125°C. ($1.39 ea/1,000 — available now.)
