PAR30 LED bulbs work smoothly with standard 120-Vac dimmers
Able to replace standard halogens and metal-halide bulbs up to 66 W, the PAR30-15W-XHW-120AMD halogen-white (2,700K to 2,800K) and PAR30-15W-XIW-120AMD warm-white (3,200K) PAR30-style LED bulbs work with most standard 120-Vac dimmer units to give smooth, full-range dimming. Running from standard 120-Vac mains power with no special adapters and consuming just 12 to 15 W, the LED bulbs can provide a 75% energy savings versus traditional lamps.
The LED bulbs produce a focused beam of approximately 45° and 426 (XIW) and 375 (XHW) lm, and are available in versions to replace lamps with 26-mm Edison or E27 European screw-in bases. Each bulb has a magnesium-alloy housing that serves as a heat sink, and comes with UV-stabilized plastic lenses over each of its five 3-W Cree XR-E LEDs.
With an average lifespan of more than 50,000 hours, the bulbs do not emit ultraviolet or infrared light or large amounts of heat — which in some cases can harm an object being illuminated. Thus they not only reduce the risk of fire, but are also suited for use in museums, markets, and facilities where UV or IR radiation might degrade, say, artwork, wine, or food.
