The SGP series surface-mount GPS antennas are said to be the first products guaranteed to pass final device product certification for reflow solder, environmental, and mechanical testing for machine-to-machine telematics devices. Featuring a unique patent-pending design, the antennas offer traditional patch antenna technology with a PCB-mounted antenna and side-oriented feedpoints that do not expose the feedline.
No pins stick out from the antenna, allowing both the module and antenna to be mounted on the same side of the PCB. Components can be placed directly on the other side of the PCB, and pads are used during soldering for stability and endurance. The rugged antennas and can withstand temperatures of –40° to 105°C, and vibrations of 20 g, suiting them for use in cars and motorcycles. Delivered via tape and reel, the antennas are currently offered in four sizes: 25 x 25 x 5 mm, 18 x 18 x 5 mm, 15 x 15 x 5 mm, and 12 x 12 x 4.5 mm. (Contact company for pricing — available now.)
