Combining state-of-the-art motion sensing with ZigBee wireless technology in a single compact module, the MotionBee SPMB250-A1 platform enables a quick, cost-effective wireless sensor network. The 49 x 27 x 5-mm module has a three-axis digital-output MEMS accelerometer that operates in the selectable range of ±2 or ±6 g with a resolution of 0.001 g typ.

The device includes a 2.4-GHz, IEEE 802.15.4 radio transceiver, with on-board antenna, and can use the EmberZNet PRO ZigBee networking software. The unit operates from –40° to 85°C from a 3.6 to 6.0-V supply. It has a low 16-µA standby current and maximum of 37-mA operating current and can run for months on inexpensive primary batteries.
