MCU features high-performance capacitive-touch control
Enabling the addition of sophisticated touch-sense interfaces to a wide range of low-cost consumer and industrial electronics products, the C8051F800 microcontroller family is said to provide the industry’s fastest capacitive touch-sense capability. The chip’s 16-bit-resolution capacitance-to-digital converter features a 40-µs acquisition time.
The F800 offers a wake-on-touch capability for power savings, up to 512 bytes of RAM, and a 25-MHz 8-bit CPU with a pipelined instruction architecture that executes 70% of instructions in one or two clocks. The chip’s on-chip debug circuitry facilitates full-speed nonintrusive in-system test. The 24-Pin QSOP or 20-pin QFN packaged IC operates from –40° to 85°C and has a 16-bit programmable counter array and I2 C and SPI ports. (From $1.56 ea/10,000 — available now.)
