Touch sensor tool eases user interface designs

The touch-sensing software (TSS) suite is compatible with more than 300 of its 8-bit S08 MCUs. The software package includes an evaluation and demo board, demonstration and implementation examples, technical documentation, hardware design guidelines and online training and support.

Features include up to 64 electrodes, support for multiple communication protocols (I2 C, LIN, CAN, SPI, and USB), and the possibility to have different electrode arrays at the same time (keypad, slider, rotary, matrix, touchpad, or any combination of them). In addition, it features an operation voltage of 1.5 to 5.5 V and support for broad range of packages from QFN8 to LQFP100. (Free of charge to Freescale’s MCU customers.)
