Clocked comparators support 20 Gbits/s

The HMC874LC3C, HMC875LC3C, and HMC876LC3C 20-Gbit/s clocked comparators offer a combination of low propagation delay, low propagation dispersion, and low power. The SiGe monolithic devices have high-speed latches with programmable hysteresis, and reduced-swing PECL, CML, or ECL output drivers, respectively.

The ICs take only 150 mW said to be 50% less than traditional comparator solutions. They achieve 25-Gbit/s operation with reduced output voltage swing while providing 120-ps clock to data output delay, a minimum pulse width of 60 ps typ, and random jitter of only 0.2 ps rms.
